HTC U11, the new flagship phone from HTC is officially here. It has been a long time since any flagship smartphone from HTC managed to give the flagships from Samsung or Apple a run for its money. The company took it’s time to release this smartphone which was supposed to show up in May. To find out if the company managed to make a worthy competitor to the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and the HTC U11 Saudi Arabia price, continue reading.
For a long time, HTC went with the same all metal unibody design for most of its flagship phones. That’s not the case with the new HTC U11 as this new flagship comes with liquid glass surface. It’s not the most practical design as the back-part grabs fingerprint quickly, but it looks really nice to see 3D glass on both the back and front side following the design trends of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The bezels on the display might put you off as most of the latest phones are going for a bezel less display. Users get a 5.5-inch screen showing 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and 534ppi of pixel density. It’s also IP67 certified like its competitors and is quite thin at 7.9mm.
While the HTC U11 is not the first phone to show up with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, it’s available globally unlike the Samsung Galaxy S8. This octa-core processor is paired with 4GB of RAM in the 64GB storage version and 6GB of RAM in the 128GB version. Right out of the box, it will be running the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. One of the most disappointing thing about this phone is that there is no 3.5mm jack like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. There is an adapter included with the phone but USB Type-C ports are still not something used by everyone so this is definitely something to keep in mind when thinking about buying this phone.
According to DxO score, the HTC U11 is better than all the camera focused smartphones available at the moment with a score of 90. However, not all the smartphones out there are rated by DxO. The rear camera is a 12-megapixel one while the front camera is a surprising 16-megapixel one. Users will be able to capture 4K videos but only at 30fps. The battery is only a 3000mAh one but it comes with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. Considering the specs this phone is packing inside, it should’ve been bigger. There is the Asus Zenfone Max 2016 if battery life is your only concern. Compared to the HTC U11 Saudi Arabia price, this phone is really cheap.
The HTC U11 is a flagship phone and it’s not cheap. It’s available for about SAR 2600 at the moment.
